The Urie Locomotive Society is run by volunteers. We carry out a variety of roles, including restoration and engineering, fundraising, and supporting activities. Our engineering team completes as much of the work on our locomotives as possible. This stretches all funds raised to go further toward materials and professional expertise where required.

We are part of the wider family of the Watercress Line, our home railway. When not working on 499, 506, or our rolling stock, our volunteers assist the railway wherever possible.

Our team welcomes those with relevant skills and those who would like to try something new. If you are interested in helping us preserve and restore the legacy of Robert Urie and the London and South Western Railway, please get in touch with Sam Wyatt, our Volunteer Coordinator, at: urieloco.volunteercoordinator@hotmail.com
